I had a terrible, and I mean terrible, experience at this vet. I called ahead to let them know that I would be bringing in a feral cat that had been getting close to me in the past few months. They said this would not be a problem and they would give him an exam and to bring him in. When I arrived, I waited a few minutes and then was brought back to the examination room with the cat. When the vet came in, I was told to open the cage and let the cat out. The cat immediately became very scared and started hissing and running all over the room. The vet got very worried and gathered up his instruments and left me there with the cat going crazy. He sent in an assistant to help me get the cat back in the cage - she used a blanket to try and drape over the cat and catch it. We finally just put the cage on the floor and the cat walked back into it. After leaving me and the cat alone for a few mins, the assistant came back and basically told me they could not help me and suggested that I call a mobile vet to come to my house as the cat would be more comfortable there. I left feeling exasperated and very upset. I calmed down and called another vet in Greenwood (the Greenwood Veterinary Hospital) a couple of days later. I explained again that I have a FERAL cat and could they please help me. The experience was the complete opposite. They gave the cat time to calm down and get accustomed to his surroundings. The assistant spoke very calmly and nicely to the cat and the vet came in and instilled confidence by recommending that the cat be sedated so that he could be examined - which was totally fine! The cat was treated and tested for a few things and I've now got him home and have confidence that he is a fairly healthy cat.
I found the vet at Kinard to be VERY unprofessional. Yes, the cat did act out, but I called ahead of time to tell them that he was feral and they did not seem equipped or prepared at all to deal with an animal that was frightened to death of the environment. I therefore give this place ZERO stars, but had to give 1 for Google to publish.
Drs are not as good to the pets or the patients as I. The past. Will probably be searching for a new vets office.
I have 2 yorkies and used to bring them there all the till the older vet retired, now they’re all about money. If you have the cash they’ll serve you, if not go down the street to Greenwood Vet, they’ll work with you and much much better vets.
They are so good their patients. They love the animals like they are their owners. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our Toby and Bocefus.
They are so good with my pets.
